About CAP

The Country Areas Program is designed to help country schools overcome their isolation from larger city centres. The program supplies schools with funds, resources and staffing to run special programs that would normally not be available or be too expensive. Our school will be involved in a variety of activities and programs that are CAP based this year.

Programs/Plan

  • Embedding Quality- This programme allows for a facilitator to work with staff, students and community on learning projects which focus on learning tools, integration of technology and models of learning.
  • Building Capacity- This program allows the staff to work collaboratively with the quality improvement facilitator on a planning and programming model, which will provide consistency throughout the school. Staff from Years K-6 will participate in sharing and mentoring opportunities.
  • Heading in the 'White' direction- This program provides a mentoring program using interactive whiteboards. Students and staff will be provided with specific skills in using interactive whiteboards as an integrated learning tool.
  • Reaching Higher - Provision of time for teams to work on school based projects aimed at developing achievable and relevant student outcomes that support the application of higher order thinking skills.
