About the Quality Journey

Pambula Public school is proud of the Quality Education we provide for the children who attend our school.

Our Quality Journey began in 2000 when a strategic plan was developed to explore and implement the latest learning theory into our classrooms. Professional learning opportunities for staff and introduction of recognised learning models to programs and classroom teaching were our first steps. DeBono's Six Thinking Hats followed by Blooms Taxonomy and Multiple Intelligences were the first learning models implemented. From there we have continued to grow, implementing Langford Tools, graphic organisers, theFish Philosophy and Habits of Mind.

Integration of technology in all areas of learning is evident in all grades in an effort to make technology meaningful and relevant to what is being studied. Emphasis is placed on open-ended programs which allow the children to drive their learning. The use of on-line interactive units of work, internet research, word processing, graphic organisers, a range of multi media programs, digital photography and movie making are successfully being used to support and extend learning. All children have access to personal email accounts and safe access to the internet through the DET Portal.

This year has seen the development of the Pambula Quality Learning Model which draws together the variety of learning models, tools and technology being used throughout the school. All rooms have this model on display and teachers and students regularly refer to it throughout the learning process.

Pambula Public School is recognised as a leader in Quality Education. For the past two years we have opened our school to teachers from across the state through Practicums to explore our Quality Journey. Visits to our classrooms, where children confidently use the language of learning to exhibit their depth of knowledge, have impressed all visitors. We also provide training opportunities in the many programs we run as well as providing a wide range of resources for them to use at their own schools. The success of these programs is outstanding.

We will be running Practicums each term this year. it is up to you whether you attend for 1, 2 or 3 days at a time. We try to vary the practicums so we can cover as much as possible. Choose the one that suits you best. If you would like a course to be designed to meet your specific needs please contact the school. A minimum of 6 participants is required for courses to run.
