Child Protection

During the year all children in our school participate in a child protection program designed to teach them how to recognise situations they feel uncomfortable with and how to deal with them. All lessons are given in grade groups relevant to the age of the child.

Music

The school has a vibrant musical and cultural life, with our African drumming group, school choir and the school band performing at various events through the year. In addition, the school hosts concerts by Musica Viva and other cultural groups during the year.
Band
Thirty students are involved with the band program this year. Ms Bool has been very pleased with the enthusiastic and positive attitude that the students in the program have been displaying. children are encouraged to practise at least 3-4 times a week for approximately 20 minutes. Students need to bring their instruments, books and folders every Tuesday.

Peer Support

Each year our Year 6 students are trained to lead groups of K - 5 students in activities which will help them develop into responsible and caring members of our school. The Year 6 students become mentors for the younger members of the school and develop leadership skills at the same time.
