Free Travel

Parents enrolling their children for the first time should complete a Conveyance Form if they consider that their children are entitled to "free" travel.

Students who qualify for NSW Department of Transport subsidised free travel are:

  • All Infants children (K - Yr 2) who are 4 years 9 months or over who live on or near the route of a school or passenger bus which serves the school in which they are enrolled.
  • All Primary children (Yrs 3, 4, 5, 6) who reside more than 1.6km from school "as the crow flies" and who live on or near the route of a school or passenger bus which serves the school in which they are enrolled.
  • Children who travel 1.6km or more by private car to the school or nearest passenger bus route.
  • Children who live in an area designated by the NSW Department of Transport as a "danger zone".

BY Bike

Parents permitting students to ride a bike to school are asked to consider the bike's size, general condition and the need for appropriate clothing, including the compulsory wearing of a helmet.

Bikes are only to be walked within the school grounds before being placed in the bike rack. This area is out of bounds for play, however parents are encouraged to supply additional security devices to secure bikes during the day.

BY Bus

Bus passes entitling students to "free" travel to and from school are issued to eligible students by the bus company on receipt of an application form (available from the bus companies). Bus passes are issued subject to a strict Code of Conduct being adhered to by the student and may be revoked for a period of time if the student's behaviour on the bus is unsatisfactory.

Parents should contact the bus companies directly for information relating to bus timetables, student bus passes, student behaviour and lost property on buses.

See Links for bus company contact details.

BY CAR

Parking is limited around the school and parents are asked to observe all parking signs in the school precinct, especially in bus zones. Please take extra care at drop off/pickup times.

See Events for our annual Walk to School Day.

Going home with other people

If at any time your child needs to go home with somebody other than the usual person, please let the teachers know (phone or send a note to school) so we have no cause to worry about the children being with strangers. The nominated person should also report to the school office and identify him/herself before taking children home.
