Classroom AssistanceParental involvement is particularly valued by both students and teachers. Parents are invited to help out with many different activities and your support and interest in class and school activities enhance the outcomes at school for students. Your assistance also provides an opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher and develop an understanding of our educational programs. At the commencement of each year and when specific class needs arise during the year, teachers often request through class/school newsletters the assistance of parents who are willing to help students in certain subject areas. Parents are asked to act as an aide to the classroom teacher and are never required to adopt a full teaching role. They may be asked to:
Children love to have their parents at school either to help with activities or just to drop in and see how they are going. For security and insurance purposes, whenever you are at the school we ask that you sign the attendance book kept in the front office and collect a visitor's badge to wear. Volunteers who are performing work which will primarily have direct contact with children and which is not directly supervised are required to complete a Prohibited Employment Declaration form.
